African Music Database
African Music Database [AMD], a new initiative of Africa Resource Center is curated by Dr. Nkiru Nzegwu, professor and chair of Africana Studies, and Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture at Binghamton University. African Music Database will publish all types of African music beginning with highlife, traditional cultural groups, popular music, hiplife, and jazz. The growing database will feature music from artists in Africa and the global diaspora. The music is available in MP3 and can be played with any MP3 device. It is our hope that the database will facilitate a new surge of interest in African music research.
