Public Health Delivery In Colonial and Post-Colonial Gambia: A Case Study of Malaria Fever

Abstract

The paper examines the root cause of the inadequate public health care delivery system of The Gambia, with malaria as a case study, which is deeply ingrained in both her colonial past and the grounds for imperial expansion of European powers particularly Britain over time. For some disreputable reasons, the first phase of the post-colonial era was a continuum of its predecessor as virtually nothing changed. Significant attempts and modalities are being fashioned and implemented since the inception of the second phase of the era to address the age long predicament.
