Five for Five Interview with Shayla Lawson

Shayla Lawson

Abstract

I write the vulnerability. To me, the space we are evading, the space we don't touch is the part that actually motivates us. Our emotions are mirrors, refracting our vulnerability. We make a pearl in the place in our gut that hurts to be touched. When it comes to romance, my relationship to vulnerability ”my relationship to seeing, being, and cultivating vulnerability” is my great tragic flaw, but it's great on the page.
