Call for Papers

Kiswahili Story Database [KSD] is a new initiative of Africa Resource Knowledge Project, published by Africa Resource Center, Inc.

The database is curated by Dr. Brillian Besi Muhonja, professor of Africana Studies, Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Women's Studies at James Madison University, and David B. Otiende, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs at The Cooperative College of Kenya in Nairobi, Kenya.

The database is a growing collection composed of short stories, African folktales, poetry and short essays. All writings in the database are in Kiswahili.

The editors are seeking submissions of original material in Kiswahili. Submission can be a short story, folktale, short essay or poetry. Creative writers are highly encouraged to submit their work for consideration.

The general deadline for submission is the 15th of each month, but submission is accepted throughout the year.

Account creation will allow you monitor the progress of your submission as well as correspond with the editors.
