Description |
Abstract |
This is a story of motherhood as experienced by three related women who nurtured their offspring through great odds. Kukhu (grandmother), Susan Namukabo, had eight children. She was widowed at age 42 and lived up to age 94. Maayi (mother), Zipporah Nasike, had twelve children. She was widowed at 48 years old, nurtured her children to adulthood and passed on at 73. I am one of her twelve children and a PhD holder with five children. I was widowed at 46 and have nurtured my children to adulthood. These three women’s struggles in life rotated around their children. This is a unique account of motherhood experiences through generations. |
